Credits from courses with a minimum grade of B may be applied toward the master's degree. Qualified students not matriculating in the masters program can earn a maximum of twelve graduate credits before formal application to the degree program is required. Courses are offered during the evenings to allow flexibility and convenience for the working professional. Many students complete their degrees on a part time basis. Students should submit an official application from the graduate school, graduate record exam scores, undergraduate transcripts, letters of recommendation and a written personal statement.īoth part-time and full-time students are welcome.

Upon completion of the program, graduates can take the national examination and work as certified technologists in research labs and hospitals or pursue further studies in a veterinary or medical school. The program serves local and regional scientists and is the only public program of its kind in New England ( New England residents may qualify for reduced tuition). A master's degree in medical laboratory science equips students with advance knowledge in biomedical sciences. Students will also develop competencies in administration and management. Students will develop skills and knowledge required for the advanced degree, including critical and independent thinking, research design, normal and pathophysiology, analytical method evaluation and scientific literature assessment.
